One of the stories that caught my eye as i was reading was "Popular Culture= Rape Culture." I never really thought much of the song "Blurred Lines" until after i read this. Its amazing how many people like myself don't make much of the song. While many young teenage girls that are victims are disturbed by this song. Not just teenage girls, but any women who are victims of rape. The passage talks about how he implies that rape is okay, when it really isn't.
This passage really stuck out to me because rape is unacceptable, no excuses. And seeing that the song implies that girls "ask" for it disgusts me. No girl should ever be raped. And i agree with them rioting to take down the song from youtube. So many women feel very uncomfortable, unsafe, and disgusted when they hear the song. You shouldnt have to feel that way about a song. Rape is not okay and should not be supported.
