Feedback on "Poverty and Obesity in America"
"Poverty and Obesity in America" by Regina Olivares of Reno, NV, is an editorial about the causes of obesity in America and how poverty relates to it. The author states that "the high price of healthy food, limited goverment subisides to farms, and the lack of government programs to provide quality food to those in need make staying at a healthy weight difficult." This article is full of informative facts and descriptive language.
This article made me understand just how serious obesity is. It also taught me some new information such as how "U.S prisoners are being fed better than students in public school" and that "McDonald's and Burger King's ground beef five to ten more times more frequently than beef in schools." The author not only mentions the causes of obesity, but helpful suggestions on how to address this problem like "raising the minimum wage, having more government assistance programs, and making it easier and cheaper to buy healthy foods." This editorial is an impressive review on obesity because of its professional tone, great grammar, and supportive research.
