          “I was only nine, but I was convinced I was dying.” In “My New Normal” a nine year old girl is diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is a disease that is “an autoimmune disease  that affects the cells and tissues of the body and can be fatal.” Everyday this nine year girls limbs are hard to move.
          I couldn’t imagine how she felt being hopeless and not being able to really do much. For example she can’t run, brush her teeth without being in pain. All the things we take for granted everyday, but she has none of what we have without being in pain all the time.  
      This story reminded me of my friend that was diagnosed with lung cancer, blood cancer,bone cancer, and Brain cancer on October 2nd, 2014. He was also having trouble moving his limbs and always being in pain. He was slowly and miserably dying. When I read that she was slowly dying it reminded me of my friend. “My New Normal” is a great true story, and I highly recommend it
