Feedback on This Morning
"This Morning" by Cecelia Bui is a poem of a morning different from the previous mornings she had. "I will wake up / and notice the way / the sun streams through / the windows / instead of / how heavy / my eyelids are," she describes. Instead of a depressing start to the day, Cecelia motivates herself to be more optimistic. Instead of delaying having to go to school, Cecelia will "...get out of bed / and wash the sleep / off..." Cecelia decides to change her ways and better herself.
This poem relates to me, because I understand how hard it is in the mornings. Having to get up sleep-deprived, skipping breakfast as well as dinner, and having a whirlwind of thoughts isn't easy to deal with. I love this piece and how the writer was able to put the situation into words. It inspires me to make the best of what I can out of the difficult mornings and put my best foot forward.
