Feedback on "Impact"

The memoir "Impact," by Sylvia, really struck a chord with me. It was a piece about rejection, betrayal, and gradual isolation. "Impact" was a heartfelt story, full of raw emotions. The vividness in which the feelings were described gave the memoir a sense of authenticity, making you seem as though you were experiencing the events described. I couldn't tear my eyes from the page as I was reading.

I liked how the innocence of the setting contrasted with the dark theme that was presented in the piece. Showing that this kind of emotional wound could be inflicted in a place as naïve as an elementary school playground really showed that bullying and discrimination happens everywhere. And the wounds it leaves can follow you throughout your life. It was relatable. I also use literature as an escape to run away from reality, and the conflicts of the characters are just as real to me as the troubles of my best friend. "Impact" was really well written, and many people can learn from the message of just accepting who you really are.
