There was once a time where blacks and whites were not allowed to love each other. Today that era is seen by society as a flaw in our timeline. It seems some people don’t realize this way of thinking has risen again. Except this time the prejudice is aiming towards the LGBT community. Their rights to be married to anyone they want do not exist in still too many states. Their rights lie in the hands of the people but sadly there are people who hold too close to their own bigoted religious views and therefore deny the rights of the LGBT community. Some do this and then proceed to spend the day with their beloved that they were free to marry with no conflict from society and the government. According to ProCon.org only fourteen states have legalized gay marriage and thirty-five states actually have bans through either laws, constitutional amendments, or both. Denying their marriage rights is absolutely no different from denying the rights of blacks and whites marrying each other. The rights of the LGBT community should not be an argument. Love is love.
