That's so Gay
I recently saw a commercial on the television with popular actress Wanda Sykes. It was about the use of the phrase "that's so gay". I have a gay best friend and it really bothers me when people say that. Before my friend came out, the phrase bothered me but I didn't feel like there was a ton of reason to speak up. Now, this really hits home. Did you know that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youths are up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers? (According to the Massachusetts 2006 Youth Risk Survey.) Why would you even want to make someone KILL themselves?
Don't say it.
