Rosa Parks
On December 1st, 1955 Rosa parks was arrested for not giving up her set for a white passenger. Rosa parks was on her way back from her work in the afternoon. She took a seat in the front of the black section and the bus was full. Then a white male passenger came on the bus and the bus driver told Rosa Park to give her seat up for the white passenger but Rosa Park did not give up her seat so she got arrested by the police and was sent to jail. Because of Rosas arrest a group of African Americans made a boycott for public transportation. For 381 days African Americans boycotted the buses to protest the arrest of Rosa Parks. It made Rosa Park a symbol of the civil rights movement and helped to end the segregation laws.
