Would you spend money on a free game to look different? If you said yes, then you’re like everyone else because free games have been making hundreds of millions from people buying in-game currency. People buy outfits and accessories for up to $100 at a time on games like Fortnite. People also watch others play games on applications like twitch spending money to have them see their comment. Fortnite is making big money for not costing anything.

   When I was in 8th grade, I Knew a 6th grader who took his mother’s credit card and spent $1,000 on Fortnite‘ ingame currency, v-bucks.

That’s crazy for him to spend someone else’s money for a free game to look different to other people. It’s like buying clothes in real life but no one sees them accept random people all over the world.

   Fortnite, being the main free game making the most money, is going to be my focus. I personally have spent around $100 on fortnite with some stuff of skins so I usually look pretty cool. Although I have a friend who has spent around $700 in the past year and a half. A lot of his money he spends on shoes and v-bucks which I guess makes sense. What else is he gonna spend it on?

   Last year, 2018, Epic Games, the creator of fortnite, made over 2 billion dollars. They made that much off kids and adults spending money on virtual clothes. Streamers like Ninja, Timthetatman, and Faze members made millions of dollars. It’s kinda sad fortnite is dying now to other free games with a little bit of a switch to Fortnite’s battle royale.

   Fortnite was the most earning free game in the world for almost a full year. People all around the world spent hundreds of dollars to buy v-bucks for virtual clothes. Some people stream and make millions just by playing at a professional level. Fortnite made the creator of their game billions of dollars also. It’s a thing everyone’s done.
