Where It All Ends
Some of my favorite memories from when I was younger was when my whole family was together. It didn’t matter what we did I just enjoyed us being together as a family just spending time with each other. But one day that all changed and it has never been the same and will never be the same for as long as I live. It starts as I am in the Kitchen eating supper on just another normal night for a 6-year-old all happy just enjoying a good meal. But one thing was off there was an unexpected yelling from behind my parents' bedroom door and I found that very strange. So at the time, I didn’t know that was fighting I just heard loud noises and yelling not really knowing what to expect.
So being confused I go and open the door to both my parents’ in a yelling fight and I was just confused. But I soon realize what is happening and it scared me and I felt very frightened. They were so into their fight they didn’t even notice me when I opened the door to see it. So I stood there in awe for several minutes just watching them fight and shout back and forth at each other. Until finally I yell to get their attention and ask them what’s happening and is something wrong. They instantly both turn and tell me nothing’s wrong “mom and dad are just discussing something.”
So I start to walk out to a big bang of the door basically slammed on me not wanting me to hear what's happening in that room. So I just believe them and head upstairs go to play with my toys and just sit in my rooms peacefully and so I am in there for about an hour or so just playing peacefully and thinking everything was all good again so I was all happy again just enjoying my night and playing around and watched some cartoons on my TV. Until while I am ready for bed waiting for my parents to come put me to sleep. I am kinda laying in bed watching cartoons the same shouting from earlier get louder and more easy to hear so. I go turn off my TV and go downstairs to see them fighting in the living room and they left the bedroom.
So I am in shock that one any discussion can go that long. Also, another option is that could they be fighting and splitting up. Then I look and see my little sister crying after hearing all of the shouting happening and since she’s a little toddler any loud noise she will start crying too. So they both continuously argue and shout very loud and well they are fighting. It must have been very loud because the neighbors heard and since it was late at night for the loud disturbance past a certain time in the night. So the police show up and both of my parents talk to different cops and tell them about everything. Then finally one of the parents is escorted away from the house to stop the fighting and everything that had been going on throughout the night and my parents filed for a divorce. Since then my life has never been the same and I don’t think it ever will be with all the changes that have been made to my life. With it being whos house I am at for a week at a time or sports having both my mom and dad avoid each other at all costs just to not make a giant scene in public.
So since then, I learned no matter how anybody feels about something like it or not it will never last forever. Whether it is a toy or a pet on how long they will live for and finally how long your family will remain in one and for that reason. So if my Mom and Stepdad ever have an argument I am quick to step in and try to resolve the conflict. Ever since that day, I have always been scared for mom and stepdad to have the same thing happen to them as happened to my mom and dad on that very day at the house where my life changed forever.
