Ugh. The airport. Everyone hates the airport, it is one of the most stress-filled places on earth. Dealing with customer service is probably the worst part because of the normally unfriendly people, but today it wasn’t as much of a hassle to get my bag checked. Southwest Airlines customer service workers were friendly and helpful and workers that don’t make it seem like you're inconveniencing them.

Unlike most airlines Southwest has the option of having a paper boarding pass, but also one on your phone on their app. This is a lot more convenient for most people instead of spending more time at customer service. I pull the boarding pass up on my phone and the gate agent scans it tells me to have a nice trip. I walk down the jet bridge and step onto the plane. I am greeted with the pilot and two flight attendants. They smile and ask how I am. I haven’t felt this welcomed by hospitality workers before. Having kind workers on this stressful, and to some a nerve racking day makes you more comfortable and feel safer going on. You are essentially handing your life over to the pilot and being greeted in a friendly way is a relief. I walked down the aisle and was greeted by two more flight attendants standing in between the seats.

Not only were the flight attendants kind, they also made sure you are as comfortable as you can be 30,000 feet in the air. Showing this, around 30 minutes into the flight a flight attendant takes everyones drink orders. Juice, coffee, water, soda, and even alcohol is offered. Next another flight attendant walks down the aisle with snacks. A cracker mix. Not the best snack of all time, but it is the thought that counts.

We land in Denver, Colorado. The first few rows start to exit and as I get to the front the pilot smiles and I say thank you. He says have a good day. This added another level of trust with Southwest Airlines. I thought about that for the rest of the day. Now when your family asks how your flight as you can give them a positive response. Even at 6 am, they all had a smile on their face.

Overall, my experience with Southwest airlines was nothing but great. The workers are such kind people and people that you want to be surrounded by on a stressful day. I could not recommend flying Southwest airlines enough.
