Have you ever wanted to watch or be in a motocross race? If you have, just read this paper, you will know what to do and what not to do during a motocross race. The first item you are going to need is a dirt bike, which usually cost, roughly five thousand to six thousand dollars brand new; I prefer a Honda 250f or any 250f. The Honda 250f is one of the best for just starting out. They don’t have too much power, so anyone can handle it. They next thing you are going to need is all the equipment to protect you from injuries. You will need a jersey, pants, knee braces, neck brace, goggles, helmet and gloves. All of that will cost about one thousand to two thousand dollars if you buy all the top- of- the- line gear. If you don’t buy all the top- of- the- line gear, it would cost about five hundred to one thousand dollars.
Before you go to a race, you are always going to want to practice a lot. I would suggest to practice for at least two summers before you start racing. You can practice by either making your own track or going to your local track and practicing there. If you practice, you will have a head start on all the other racers who you are racing with. You might not be the best, but you probably will not be the worst.
There are some modifications you will need to make to your dirt bike before you start racing. Several of them are. Number plates, aftermarket exhaust, new tires if they are going bald, holeshot device, new sprockets, and chain. The holeshot device is meant for when you are at the starting gate, the gate drops, you drop the clutch and don’t do a wheelie and flip the dirt bike backwards on top of you. The number plates are plastic pieces by your exhaust that will display your number. Aftermarket exhaust is, new exhaust that you have to buy and put on. They normally are around, five hundred to one thousand dollars.
There are several steps that you must know before you start racing motocross. They are, when you are at the gate, you should always pick a decent spot at the gate, so you can get the holeshot. Step Two: you should always rev the motor a lot, allowing you can take off fast. Step Three: when you are about to hit a jump, you should always lean back a little bit, If your backend is too far down in the air for the landing, you can push down on the handle bars or you can tap the front brake a little bit, If the front end is too far forward in the air, you can rev the motor a lot and the backend will go down and you will land safely. Step four: When you are going into a corner, you will want to lean before you go into the corner, that way you can go through the corner nice and smooth. When you are about to get out of the corner, you will want to lean all the way back so you can get as much traction as you can so you achieve a lot of speed leaving the corner.
The next thing you will need to know is the whoops, they are little bumps in the track that are hard to get used to right way. When you enter them you want to lean back and grip the side of the gas tank with your knees, this will allow you to control your bike.
With all that said, you should be able to ride motocross pretty decent. I am not the best rider but I have been riding dirt bike for about eight or nine years now, so I know quite a bit about motocross. The only thing else I have to say is to watch motocross videos on how to be a good rider, they might actually help a lot if you are open minded about it
