Is Your Internet Activity Safe? Protect Yourself with Internet Anonymity!

The internet. We use it every day. You might use it for social media, buy items of websites like Ebay or Amazon ,and research information. But is all this protected? Is what you do kept private. No. It’s not. Everything YOU do, is tracked. Nothing you do is secret.

You may be thinking, well why do I need to stay anonymous. I’m not doing anything bad, I have nothing to hide. It’s only the government who tracks what you do. Right? Wrong! Other people can find your information. People can find your exact location. Right now.  Does that sound safe? Do you want random hackers to know what you day to day? How does it feel to know that you could be tracked right now.

Every time you use the internet your location is given off through your IP. IP stands Internet Protocol. Your IP changes as you go to different places. Your IP shows where you are. For example the my current IP address is 136.235.244.60. This shows that I’m at my school.

Everything you do on the internet can be tracked. Everything you search for is tracked. Strangers could essentially find out everything about you. Who your friends are, your likes and dislikes, and other information like your birthday.

How can I stop this you say. It’s simple. Browse anonymously. Wait! Don’t press ctrl-shift-n to go into incognito mode. That won’t protect you. Going into incognito mode on Google Chrome, Firefox, or other normal web browsers is not truly browsing anonymously. You need the web browser Tor.

Tor is a complete anonymous web browser. Tor uses proxy IP addresses so no one can find your actual address. People can no longer find out your information and discover facts about you. BUT Tor doesn’t keep you completely anonymous either. You’ll have to change your browsing habits. Search engines like Google and Bing. They won’t cut it. Using search engines like Disconnect Me and Duckduckgo ensure everything you do is safe. With all these precautions you can be safe. You will no longer have to worry about your safety. You can be protected from the dangers of the internet.
