Educator of the year
Mrs. Polkowski
When most women are nine months pregnant, they spend all day in bed. But not Mrs. Polkowski. Mrs. Polkowski goes above and beyond every day to make her Modern Lit class interesting, exciting, and something I look forward to everyday. She is someone who loves teaching more than anything, and it's easy to tell. Mrs. Polkowski encourages her students to excel in her class, and she provides each student with everything needed for success.
Walking into Modern Literature, I was skeptical as to whether or not I would enjoy the class, as I have always struggled with reading. However, upon entering her classroom, all of these underlying thoughts flew out the door I walked in as she greeted me with a welcoming "Hello, Emilia!!!" If it wasn't for Mrs. Polkowski, I would have never enjoyed reading. But thanks to Mrs. Polkowski, reading is fun and enjoyable, and cracking open a book is now one of my favorite hobbies.
Mrs. Polkowski isn't like any other ordinary teacher. She begins each morning with a video that relates to that day's class. Whether it be music, or an informative video, Mrs. Polkowski knows how to get our attention. She is cool, she is techie, and she is trendy.
Even though I have only had Mrs. Polkowski for one month, she is already one of my all time favorite teachers. She is inspiring, fun, and easy to get along with. Apart from this, she also helps out with National Honors Society and is a soon to be mom. Thank you, Mrs. Polkowski, for everything you do for your students. You make Arrowhead a better place.
