The Dream I Chose

Sometimes you think dreams that you have can become a lifestyle. You believe that you can achieve this amazing dream like you’re invincible, that you believe can become part of your life, but sometimes you have nightmares or bad things that happen in your life that change your hopes of achieving this dream and as our hopes get down we start to get frightened to take on and achieve our dreams. I had a dream where I was actually leaning in the right direction to achieve my dream in real life, but I also had the nightmare or the bad thing that everyone has and makes them scared of actually pursuing that dream. My dream is to become a professional soccer player one day and to help the world in need, but there were points in my life that I felt like it was never going to achieve it and nothing would ever happen because I doubted myself because of the people around me.

In a normal day of my life when I was young I played soccer every day and to chase my dream, so I did, but when I finally reached one game where I probably would have easily done good at and could have won and would have no problems with became my nightmare in real life. I was about 11 or 12 years old and I had a huge tournament that was a monster and had teams from all over the Midwest region of the country come to play for and my team was in it. We won all the games and it was time for the championship game, so I was ready and was listening to music ready for the game to start as I was driving there. When it was time to start the game I was ready and jogged onto the field with my team to start Warm-ups. But, as soon as the ref blew the whistle it was like the sound of death in my ear, my heart started to beat fast and my stomach dropped. At that moment, I just realized how big of a game this was and started to panic because of all the nervousness inside me was dragging me to the ground. I was tripping over myself, getting knocked over, having a bad mindset, and getting angry at my teammates for how I was playing. I felt like I was living in a nightmare. I had everything in my hands and then the demons swiped my whole dream out of my hands because I was playing terrible and making mistakes and being scared which is not something that people taught me to do, my team lost. I was losing my dream, I was losing myself, and I was losing my hope so I was in one of the worst positions of my life, on top of that, the people around me were yelling at me and criticizing me when I needed the most help so I started back at the bottom with nothing and nobody.

I believe now that God is the most important thing in life because if you put God's good grace first then everything falls into place but after that game, I felt like nothing could help me. I know that it is just a game but for some people, it is a way of life as pro players make money off of playing in front of thousands of people. My parents forced myself to go to church to learn about God but I didn’t like it at all and I just started to get angrier because I didn’t understand the importance of it and the nightmare felt like it was coming to real life.  When I think I had nothing and just would continue life without knowing my future, I finally gave God a chance in my life and I went to church and I finally really looked deep into the meaning of everything the disciples were saying about him. I looked up after walking out of the church and saw the clouds forming the shape of a cross. I finally found peace in life and was wishing that God could forgive me for doubting him. Finally, I was about to play my next game and I finally trusted God to give me a chance and it turned out to be one of the best games of my life because I was following the rules of God which gave me strength.

In conclusion, I learned that even though you think everything in your life is lost, doesn’t mean that you are finished as a person. The truth is, whether you believe it or not God has a plan for you and sometimes the terrible things treat you bad in life to get you to learn and go down the right path so you don’t suffer from the bad things. So, this is the dream I chose and this is still the dream I am choosing.

Everyone should be able to have a chance to succeed and achieve their ultimate dream, but what will you do when God says no? I think that if you put God first in your life that you will really be at peace, and you will have a successful life because you learn more right than wrong in life. I learned that no matter what happens in life that, you have to believe that in the end, something is waiting for you that you have been working hard for your whole life.
