When I found out my godmother, who is basically like my second mom, was pregnant I couldn’t believe it. She has been waiting so long to have her own child and the day finally came. I have been like her child since I was born. She took care of me and lived with me until the age of about thirteen. I was basically her first born so when she was pregnant and finally was going to have her own she wasn’t as nervous as first time mothers usually are. Just because she already had the experience with me. I knew the second she told me that she would be one of the greatest moms out there. I had this strong gut feeling she was going to have a boy but I didn’t want to keep my hopes up. I never had siblings, but I’ve always been surrounded by girls in the family that it would be nice to have a change and somewhat of a challenge with a baby boy. I knew that the baby wouldn’t technically be my sibling, but I sure would treat the baby like that. I mean the baby would be living with me for the first year so why not. It was finally time for my aunt to go to the doctor’s office and find out the gender. I was waiting all day and I was so anxious. I couldn’t wait any longer. The day never felt so long in my life. I went to school and then my aunt went to the doctor’s office around five o’clock. I wanted to come to, but I had homework and the doctor wouldn’t let me in the room anyway so more waiting. I wasn’t that upset though because my aunt promised me I would be the first person she would call. So I waited for what felt like forever and finally at around six or seven o’clock my aunt calls and announced that she is having a baby boy! Me and my aunt were so happy we both wanted a boy, but of course it would be ok to have a girl as long as the baby was healthy. My uncle thought it was going to be a girl, but he was wrong as usual. I don’t think he has ever guessed anything right. Anyways, we had a baby shower and I have never seen so much blue before. I mean I like blue and all, but I’m a girl and pink is my go to. It was a nice little party at a restaurant with just a couple of our close friends and family. Me and my aunt thought of names all the time. We had some favorites, Kasper and Max, but then my aunt’s friend got a dog and named him max so that was out. She definitely didn’t want her son to be named like a dog and as for Kasper she just wasn’t feeling it anymore. So, we just decided to wait until the baby was actually born because in our family last minute is usually the best moment for anything. I swear this waiting was killing me. We had a scare at seven months in, but it was just a false alarm thank goodness. Otherwise the baby would have been born prematurely and we wanted the baby to be as healthy as possible. July 4th came along and we didn’t do much just went to my other cousin’s house for his birthday. As we headed back home my aunt was really tired and wanted some sleep. So, right when we got home she went straight to bed. The next morning it was around seven o’clock and I hear my aunt goes to the bathroom and she goes back to her room for about five minutes and comes into me and my mom’s room. She tells my mom she can’t seem to stop peeing. We start laughing and then my mom says I think your water broke. They both go in complete shock, as for me, I got up and said I’m ready. I was so ready and couldn’t wait to go. I was the most excited and my aunt was the most nervous. She calls my uncle and tells him to leave work because the baby is coming. Next thing I know he shows up in the next fifteen minutes. I knew his work was far, but I didn’t think he'd be home that fast. Let’s just say he was just as excited as me. My guess was that he speeded from his work, but that’s ok because it is definitely worth it. So, we all started to head out the hospital as we were driving, I couldn’t believe my eyes. My uncle looked as if he was going one hundred miles per hour. I mean If he got pulled over he had an excuse he had to rush my aunt to the hospital. As for me and my mom we had to stay within the speed limit. When we got to the hospital my aunt was already set up in a room waiting to be transferred to the delivery room. Only one person at a time was allowed so I had to go in there by myself. I was kind of nervous considering the fact hospitals freak me out, but it was my aunt, I wanted to see her and to make sure she was doing well. The nurse told me where to go and when I walked in I saw my aunt in pain and heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. It was unreal, but my aunt was in a lot of pain. I don’t think I have ever seen her in that type of pain before. She told me she was going to be just fine. Then I left and my mom went in and came out so my uncle could sit in there with her. Again, waiting. I was done with all this waiting. It was already eight months I just did not want to wait another day. Thank goodness he decided to come out just slightly earlier than the actual due date. A couple hours passed and by now everyone in the family knew and were so excited, but not as much as me. Me and my mom go to the cafeteria because we realized we haven’t had breakfast and right after we came back, my other aunt and uncle came to see how we were all doing. Then my uncle comes out and says my aunt is going to be delivering! We couldn’t believe it soon there would be a little baby boy. Some time past and me and my mom still standing by the door waiting. That was talking forever and it was already lunchtime so we went back to the cafeteria. As we sat I saw my uncle go outside for a smoke and we were both confused. Shouldn’t he be with my aunt? I run out there ask him why he's here and not upstairs and he said with no enthusiasm, “oh the baby is here”. Right when he said that I run to my mom and we go as quickly as we can back upstairs to the room. We come in and my aunt was there waiting for the new addition to the family to be washed to be able to hold. I was shocked, he was so small. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was the cutest moment ever. I was mostly happy that I was the first person to see him, well after my aunt and uncle of course. They then took him to take the rest of his antibiotic and me and my mom stayed for a little longer and went back home while they stayed at the hospital. Thankfully he was born in the summer so I didn’t have to worry about school. So, you best believe I went to the hospital the very next day. Again, I quickly got up and got dressed and went to the hospital all the way back to downtown. My mom couldn’t come since she had work, but it's ok she would come later. My uncle’s mom wanted to come too. So, my mom dropped us off and I knew exactly where to go. I walk in and there he was sleeping so cute in his little bed. I just admired him. We started to come up with names and my uncle’s mom thought of Adrian and we fell in love with it. We had no idea why it just felt like it suits him perfectly. He came home in the next couple of days. This day impacted me for the rest of my life. Adrian has become the little brother I have never had and I couldn’t be more thankful. Since he came to this world it has been a  roller coaster. Many ups and downs, but they all happened for a reason. Without him I wouldn’t be the person I am today. He changed my life to a better one. Today, we have a bond like no other. I have not once missed a single big milestones in his life and I don’t plan on missing them ever. He is now and forever will be stuck with me for the rest of his life, whether he likes it or not, and that is a promise.
