Plane Ride Alone

The alarm went off at 4:00 am. It sounded like someone dropped a pan and it made a dinging sound. It was a dark foggy morning filled with rain. I could barely open my eyes as I listened to my dog breathing next to me. Pushing her aside, I made my way to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and my hair.
“The foods ready come down to eat” my mother said.
I grabbed my breakfast and ate it in the car. While walking downstairs I noticed my black suitcase by the door. As I was getting into the car to head straight to the airport I started to look outside the window. Counting cars from the backseat and listening to music until I got to the airport.
Arriving towards the airport I started to get my stuff ready to get out of the car. All my anxiety was kicking in. Saying my goodbyes to my mother with tears in our eyes I gave her a big hug.
“Text me when you're about to get on the plane, let me know if anything.” She shouted as I was walking away.
“okay.” I spoke.
The big gates opened, and I was so nervous watching all these people rushing to get their luggage or to not miss their plane ride. Any second my plane was getting ready to take off and I did not know what to do. Until a flight attendant with pushed back blond hair and shiny black shoes came up to me.
“Are you Jazzy?”
“um yes”
“well, I am your flight attendant and will be taking care of you.”
In my head all I could think of was great less stress for me. I texted my mom and told her I was going through security and I was about to get on the plane.
The flight attendant took incredibly safe care of me, especially on the plane. Surprised, I was not scared anymore. It was only four hours to my destination, so I took a nap until I got there. When I got to St. Louis, Missouri my flight attendant said to me.
“there will be another flight attendant escorting you to pick up your luggage.”
“oh okay”
“He is wearing a red vest and waiting for you at the gate” she said.
While I was walking out the plane, I texted my mom that I got to St. Louis. I found the flight attendant and got my luggage. Looking back, I realized there was nothing to fear, and this was a fun experience.
