Hard word is the Best Work

As I work for hours and hours every day at my job, sweeping the floor with the small red handle broom, mopping the floor with the big stick, going back and forth on the white and salmon pink pattern-colored floor. As I’m folding the gray soft towels while listening to my boss's opera music (I think she is a psychopath). After working at my job for a month, I finally got my first paycheck.

As I walk into the door at my work, I get a deep whiff of my boss's autumn-scented air freshener. I walked to the empty hallway leading into the small pink laundry room. I see the dryer has a load of gray and white towels in them, so I grabbed the metal laundry basket and filled the basket with gray soft towels, and took them into the backroom to fold them. After folding all of the towels, I had to put them away in a certain way because my boss has O.C.D. and if it isn’t perfect, she will make me refold all the towels and she will watch me put them the correct way. After I finished wiping off the counters, I heard the jingle of the washer. I switched the dryer over and told my boss that my shift was over.

As she walks through the door with a purple cane in her hand. She starts to head over to her pink desk wearing purple pajama pants with her floral design top. When she sits at her desk, she usually is opening bills with her bill opener or sipping her chocolate protein shake while talking to someone on the phone. Sometimes, she has her tea and watches over employers to see if they are getting the job done. Also, she will sometimes have her hair greased back with a comb with pj’s on.

The thing I carry around with me is my phone. It's a red, beaten-up rectangular device that fits in the palm of my hand. It feels like it has a smooth case and a few cracks on the screen protector. My thoughts are connected to my phone because it has been by my side for two years now and hopefully for another year. My emotions connected to my phone are strong like steel. It's always there when I need help in situations.

My experiences of working taught me about hard work and things that just don’t get handed off to you for free. It also taught me to have pride in myself for working hard for money and being able to spend my own money compared to spending someone else’s money. Also, working taught me that you are probably not going to like the people you work with, but to be nice to your co-workers and boss so you can stay on their good side. Another thing working taught me was that working for hours and hours every day can be stressful and frustrating, but sometimes you need a day off for relaxation.
