A Small Trinket

I walk around every day carrying my small trinket, thinking of all the memories it contains from all my experiences with my friend. It was another great, sunny day at my friend’s house, running around the concrete road, and playing basketball. After hitting some amazing shots, we decided to take a small break. While taking that break,  I was sitting down feeling the slight breeze brazing my face, thinking of what we should do next. However, the constant sounds of cars and people talking caught my attention and interested me to figure out what exactly was going on.

After hearing all of the commotion going on in the area, I asked my friend what exactly was going on. That's when he told me that once a year, a bunch of garage sales would open in the area. This surprised me because I have never really heard of this, despite being at their house many times before. I wondered what they were selling at all of the shops, so I asked my friend if he wanted to walk around and visit some of the shops to see what they had to offer, of course, he said yes so we both walk to get our wallets and head out.  While walking around visiting the shops and occasionally slipping on the broken concrete on the sidewalk, we want to get out of this scorching sun and decide to stop at a house that was selling some cold water and hotdogs.

We both buy our hotdogs and water at the stand and take a break in the grass. Looking around at the garage sales was pretty tiring so I really enjoyed the break. I liked looking around, seeing all the cars passing us, and the colors from different colored umbrellas and shaders to keep cool from the blazing sun. As I look around I see a bright red stand that catches my eye so I tell my friend that once we are done we should head over there. After we finished, we quickly ran across the street to the red stand, they had many stands each that were differently colored, and really eye-catching. At each stand, they were selling a variety of items varying from shirts to video games. We noticed a resin stand, so we walked over and we saw a jigsaw resin set that could connect together for $5. We decided to each buy one and keep it on us. Ever since then, we each keep it on us to preserve the moment and to reflect on all we have been through.

My friend is someone who was kind and caring ever since I met him, and he has always been respectful and there to help me when I needed it. I first met him in 4th grade and we have been friends ever since then. I always feel it is so much fun when I am hanging out with him whether it is at the park, in one of our houses, or at school. I feel like the jigsaw piece is very important to me because when I see it I think of all the times that I had hanged out with my friend and all the fun memories we have had since.
