Six Years Old Again
Laying under the bright light created permanent damage. Sweaty palms, panic attacks, tears are all baseline and it dates back to the clueless six-year-old at the dentist. I was happy and seconds later I was wailing as the dentist ripped out my teeth. The momentary relief followed by a second run crowned it. The horrific shock clouded my memory, numbed my pain and left me with feelings of betrayal, hurt, and worst of all, ugliness. Ultimately I survived, but the bright lights reopen my wounds as if I am six years old again.
