A Poem For Our Dear Auntie Najibeh
Sitting behind my window
Music blasting loud
Surrounded by memories and thoughts
Your face forms itself in a cloud
I think of all the times we had
Wondering why they had to end
You were more than just an aunt, a mother;
You were a role-model – a friend
No, you’re no longer physically here
But in our hearts, you’ll always be
God chose this for you because He loves you
He wants your soul to be free
We, your family and your friends
Wait here on this earth
Trying to figure it all out;
Just what our lives are worth
I think he chose you, dear
Because he senses your faith and belief
So much stronger than the rest of ours
And He chose to give you relief
I know it may not have been
The best way He could have chose
But through the whole experience
In His eyes, you blossomed like a rose
We all think of you so highly
You were so spiritual, so sweet and kind
And even though you’re no longer physically here
You’ll always be in our hearts, and on our minds
