Blood. It was everywhere, all over the snow on my jacket, even on my pants. This is the horrid sight I saw when I bite through my lip. It all started as I was skiing the park of copper.

Before all of this I was having the time of my life.. learning new tricks, did my first 360. It was great! Until I saw that jump. I knew I shouldn’t go off it. I knew I would get hurt. But they convinced me. It was my turn. As I skied up to the jump I almost bailed. I almost stopped the pain. It would have never happened. But I went. I hit the jump. As I jumped I saw the landing. I also saw where I was landing. Flats. Worst pace to land. I was almost there but not. As I hit I blacked out. I felt butterflies. I thought I was dead. Then I saw light, I was still skiing. It was a miracle I landed it. The first thig I did was check my goggles. They were not broken but as I brought my hand down I saw it. I saw the blood. I feel immediately. I felt my lip and it was already huge. I grabbed a handful of snow and put it on my lip. A very nice lady stopped. She must have worked there because she called for help. She stayed with me until the help arrived. When the ski patrol arrived they told me I was doing exactly what I was supposed to do and that I was handling it very well. As they skied down with me in the sled it was the scariest thing of my life. Skiing without skiing just scared me more than my lip did. When I got down they tested me for a concussion. They gave me a little test. As they tested me I could barely talk. Not because I had a head injury, because I had a huge lip. They ask me very simple questions: what’s my name? What mountain are we on? Then they asked the one question I didn’t know. What’s the date? I was puzzled. It was winter break I never kept track of days. I didn’t know what to say but then they answered it for me. I was relieved when they said I didn’t have one. But then I was on to my lip. As the doctor looked the first thing he said was stiches. It was like he knew my biggest fear. He asked me for my parent’s number to talk to them about it so I gave him my dad’s. After a while my dad said he didn’t want me to get stiches up there so I had to go down to him. As we got ahold of my friend’s dad we went home.
Later I called my dad just to talk to him. He asked me if I wanted stiches. And I assured him I did not. After a while of arguing about it I got my way and didn’t get them. But then I still wanted to go to my friend’s house. My dad said he better see me first. So we met at a parking lot and showed him. He kind of smiled and said,” This reminds me of my tongue. When I bite through it cliff jumping.” I kind of laughed and then he said that I could go to my friends. As we went home we all were pretty hungry so we thought that we would go out. I was craving this one food but I didn’t want to be rude so I didn’t say it. But right then my friend said it… Buffalo wings. I love them so much. So we went to Buffalo wild wings. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy eating with my lip but then it went back to normal. He ate and feasted. After he went back to johns house and almost instantly feel asleep. After hat day I haven’t done any jumps bigger than 5 foot. That is what I learned from this experience.
