Have you ever gotten your hopes up so high that you feel like you're the happiest girl on earth? Then a week later you find out it was never meant to be and those hopes and dreams come crashing down faster than an ocean wave? Yeah, me too. I thought he liked me, the way he stared at me with those sparkling green eyes. The way he talks to me in such a sweet and calming voice. He made your heart skip a beat every time you saw him.

The first time I really got to know him, I knew I liked him because he was so hilarious to talk too. The more I got to know him, the more I fell for him. I thought he really liked me because of all the “signs” he was clearly giving me, even made my friends think he liked me. That’s when the hopes started rising. Every day got better because I got see to see him and he made me smile everyday!

It all started with church. My best friend started to bring me to her church after our Stagedoor theatre was over. I had no idea he went to that same church!! I started to like him two weeks after going and I couldn’t wait to go again. We started talking a bunch more and we even walked to electives together. We started to gain this love-hate relationship. After awhile we started to tease each other and talk even more! All of my friends kept saying “Yeah Nat, he definitely likes you!” What could get better than that!?

Everything started to go downhill when the third trimester rolled in. We both got new electives that were completely opposite of each other and we rarely ever talked! He started flirting and teasing with other girls and sometimes when we walked past each other, he didn’t even notice I was there. My heart started to sink into a puddle of mudd and I felt like a ghost to him. I thought it would be a good time to get over him but that is a really hard thing to do.

Everything I have experienced from this one problem is to not get your hopes up. Its literally the worst thing to do in this kind of a situation because getting your hopes up is like riding the tower of doom at Elitches. The ride takes you high up into the sky and you get such a beautiful view of denver! Jitters start to feel your skin and a pit start to form in your stomach! But once you get to the top, the ride just drops you straight down to the bottom. RUSH! your heart stops at an instant and you feel like you can’t breathe anymore. Lesson learned is getting your hopes up, means getting heartbroken in the end.
