I am a very clumsy person; I use to think because I was born the day before Saint Patrick’s Day that I some how had bad luck in me. I realized I don’t always deserve my two left feet or the awkward situations that seem to find me.

But last winter my bad luck seemed to hit me hard.

But this time it was different, because it came with a lesson. I was once again going to try-out for my schools basketball team.

I was coach’s favorite, one of the leading scorers, and moving up the ladder.

I predicted that this season was going to be a smooth ride for me, but of course I was wrong. Because one person was standing in my way there was a girl and she was taller, faster, and younger.

I couldn’t stand her even though she was one of the sweetest people I have met.

Are season was broken up into two parts. The games we played for practice and the games we played for championships. We where having are last practice game, the game I was ready to finally beat her at.

I was even listening to rap which I don’t usually do, but I needed something to get me angry to play my best. I finally had my chance they put me out there and the last thing I remember was getting pushed and a loud

SNAP!

And I was out for the rest of the season I pulled a ligament and sprained my ankle. But of course I was not done hating her I did everything to get my ankles strength back. But I rushed things and I sprained it a second time. I missed more games than I was originally going to miss. And then I realized that I don’t hate her.

It wasn’t her fault it was mine.
