Where I’m from you can smell the bacon from your bed
The fresh pancake batter sizzling as it hits the cooking oil coated pan

The constant flow of people trying to get something to eat from the blank white pantry
The endless sportscenter theme going off from each room

Where i’m from you see the sports memorabilia lining the walls
Indiana, Alabama, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin all have a plaque or flag on the tan wall

Where i’m from you hear Sophie's collar rattle from across the house
The little parcels of hair cover her favorite spots to rest

Where i’m from the neighbors lawn mower is your weekend alarm
Scents of fresh cut grass flowing through the open window sills

Endless noise of the air conditioning flowing through the vents
Heat flowing through the wood vents in the floor

Sights of a roofless tree house when looking out the clean white windows
The beige wood tainted by cracks coming from many years of different activities

Where i’m from the stars in the sky are tainted by street lights
There is hammocks hanging from tree to tree sway in between each gust of wind
