Colorful Friendship

On a warm Tuesday afternoon as the 2nd recess bell rings, children anticipated to return to their classroom to read books and play with toys. During this time my friends and I take turns reading books to each other. Other times we play with building blocks, which we use to make tall buildings, and as for the dinosaur toys, which were used, for destroying the building block buildings that we made. Most of the times we usually tend to just talk about things that were happening around the school or with shows such as cartoons that we like to watch. During these conversations about the shows that we watch we were usually engaged as if it were a really important matter to us. Usually most of these conversations consisted of me and 3 other kids so in reality we never took much of the space by where we would our little library of books.

Once during the beginning of January, I had felt really sick so I stayed home being absent from school for about a week and a half. Also while being sick, another thing that was on my mind wanted to watch television. The reason was so that I would be able to talk about the shows with my friends. Also while being sick, another thing that was on my mind wanted to watch television. The reason was so that I would be able to talk about the shows with my friends. The reason was so that I would be able to talk about the shows with my friends. At the time my mother didn’t let me because resting in bed and getting better was more important than watching the television.

After I had fully recovered from being sick I was so happy because I would once again be able to talk to my friends as well as play with them. When my friends had seen me walking towards the cafeteria to have breakfast they were all excited. They all ran towards me and then we all walked towards the cafeteria together. After we had gotten our breakfast we sat down on a table and started talking about how my friends were sad since I had been gone for a week and a half. Once we had finished the little conversation we all rushed towards the class so that none of us would arrive late. Once we had arrived our teacher had done attendance and to her surprise she was happy to know that I was back in school.

Later on it was time for recess and my friends and I had all gathered around the swing set so that we could play tag as well as hide-and-seek. As all my friends, but one rush to hide themselves in the many locations that the playground has to offer. Unlike my friends I had decided to go to the drinking fountain just for drink of water. As I had finished up the sound of my counting down was soon coming to an end so I quickly decided to just duck and hide under the fountain, which had brown rust covering the bottom. In the distance all I could hear was my friend running place to place as if he had known where my other friends had hid. After that we all gathered so that we could all return to class and play with the building blocks.

As we entered the classroom I had barely remembered that since I didn’t watch any television it would be hard for me to partake in the discussion my friends and I usually have. While I began to play with the blocks near the reading area I could hear the sounds of the other kids playing with toys as well as laughter from the way kids were reading to other kids. Another thing that I heard was the conversation my friends were having. During this time I had felt left out since I didn’t want to be part of the conversation, which would of, been hard for me to talk about a show that I missed watching.

While I continue to play with the blocks I noticed a green crayon in the bin which held all the dinosaur toys in. I reach in to take it and instantly got the idea of drawing something. Since there wasn’t any construction paper or printer paper around me I had decided to give up. As I looked up I had finally realized there was red construction paper on the wall in the reading area near me. Deep down inside I knew that it would of been a really bad idea writing on the wall, but I did it anyway. As I put the tip of the crayon on the wall with construction paper like wallpaper I began drawing. The first thing I had drew were mostly shapes. As days passed still not wanting to my friends I began to draw more “detailed” pictures such as houses and trees.

While this continued I had left a big part of the wall with small drawings of shapes, fruits, etc. Until one day a student had noticed the tiny drawings which had been all cramped on the wall, and had reported it to the teacher. Once the teacher had been notified she decided to have a little class meeting to talk about who had drawn these drawings. At this point I was really nervous as well as embarrassed to tell the class that it was me who had done it. As I was about to finally raise my hand to confess that it had been me, the student teacher had walked in. When she joined the class meeting that we were having she kept on saying that whoever had done this was smart. She thought that this was a great way of expressing emotions. Also she thought that this should’ve been a class activity that the class could do.

After that one class meeting writing on the construction paper type wallpaper was a thing everybody in the class started doing it. Once this had become a thing everyone in the class started drawing things on the wall. As this started happening I didn’t feel left out anymore and that I could finally do something with not only my friends but also with the whole class. This was a really great day for me mainly for the fact that I wouldn’t of been that one kid that was left out of things anymore.
