Last Thanksgiving break, My cousins, family, friends, and i went on a cruise. We went on a 7-day cruise on Royal Caribbean Independence of the seas. We stopped in St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, and the Royal Caribbean's Private Island.

Most of us kids went to explore the first day. The ship was so confusing that we were 30 min late to dinner. There were a lot of hallways. One side had the even numbered rooms and the other side had the odd.The 4,5,and 6th floors were the main floors. The buffet was at the back of the ship When we finally reached the dining area everyone was done eating. We ended up eating after everyone left.

The next day was a sea day. We all did random things around the boat. My neighbor, sister , and I went to a towel folding class which was actually pretty fun. We learned how to make fans, animals, and candles. We went swimming and watched some college football on the big screen. We are a lot of food The main floor looked like a street in Venice, Italy. That night, the staff had a parade to show the guests  where they are from.

The third day on the cruise was also a sea day. My cousins and i went to the helicopter pad at the front of the ship.the front of the ship was very windy.  The sides of the ship had an amazing view of the water and sunrise. That day consisted of ice skating, wave pool, and the rock climbing. We had a lot of free time, which gave us more time to explore the ship. We had a really big lunch which made us want to go to sleep.

After we woke up, we watched some football pool side. We later had to get ready for formal night. My dad wasn’t feeling to good, so my mom took him to the doctor's place on board , which gave  my sister and i time to take family portraits with each other. We changed because formal cloths aren't comfy for a long period of time. We went up to the top of the ship. It started raining salt water which really hurt.

Finally we see land, we were ported at St. Thomas. We went on a tour around the country. We stopped at a beach where it was very windy. We hopped off the bus and took some pictures.we didn't even get to swim. The tour guide wanted us to be back on the bus so we can go to the next location but no one could hear her. The next location was not a place to swim so we just left.

Back onto the boat we go. We had to go take a shower and get ready for formal night. This time we had our whole family in the family portraits. We had formal dinner after all of our family photos were taken.

Next stop was St. Maarten  which is part of the kingdom of Netherlands and part of the French. The island had a nice vibe of cultural differences. We took a tour around the island and saw the different cultures of the French side and dutch side.  The cultures were very different. Each side had their own lifestyle.

We got back on to the boat after a day of exploring different cultures. After the cultural day the parents wanted indian food. The parents had Indian that night while the kids had whatever they wanted.

Later that night Alabama vs. Auburn was on the big screen. We all went up and watched the game.I was voting for Alabama and so was my sister. Alabama ended up winning.

We were in Puerto Rico for 5 hours, so we went on a city tour and went shopping. The island had wifi so everyone was on there phones. After 5 days without our phones, we couldn’t get off of them.We needed to catch up on everything.

We set sail again to the Royal Caribbean private island. We were in Haiti. When we reached my neighbor and i went parasailing and my sister and our neighbor went on an ocean obstacle course.

The next day was back to Ft.Lauderdale. We ate breakfast and got off the ship. We drove for 18 hours that day.

The trips with my family makes me feel thankful for all that i have. I get to go on cruises all the time and travel and some people can’t. You should never take anything for granted. We go on these trips because of all the hard work my parents put threw and i know i would have to too.
