My name is Lexi but you can call me ANYTIME.

I wrote this story to tell you all about how having a new sibling can change your life. It's about how my feeling were at the time I found out that he was going to be born and be apart of my life.

Chapter 1: The Call

*BZZZZZZZZT!* I felt a vibration in my pocket and quickly took out my phone.
“Hello, who is-” I said but then was quickly interrupted by my grandpa.
“Hi this is your grandpa. Your brother is being born right now I will be there in thirty minutes to take you to the hospital,” He told me.
My jaw dropped in surprisement, I didn’t expect my new brother to be born so soon, especially since there was still six weeks until his due date. Although I had many questions to ask I knew that there was no time, I knew this would change me either in a good way, or a terrible way.

Chapter 2: The Arrival

Remember: You’re going to get replaced; or You’ll be forgotten. These were just some horrible things I remember thinking to myself. Then I hear a car pulling into my driveway. As curious as I am, I looked out the window to see my grandpa waiting in his car ready to drive my siblings and I to the hospital.
“Come on let's go!” He yelled to us impatiently.
We all rushed out the door and jumped into the car. When the car pulls up the the hospital a feeling of fear and joy ran through my body. I ran into the hospital and into the elevator. I remember something my sister told me before we went to the hospital.
Keep in mind: he might not make it because he’s so small; and if he does, there might be problems with him. Her voice flooded my mind.

Chapter 3: He's Here

The overload with emotions made me start crying. Then I felt the elevator going up slowly until it finally came to a halt. It was time now.
Her room was closed and I wasn’t allowed to go into her room while the doctors were helping her. I waited in the waiting room with several other of my family members for which seemed like an eternity, which sucked because each one of us were eager to see the new member. The room suddenly got dead silent, the only thing you could hear was my baby brothers first cries. All of my thoughts went blank as my father motions me to come into Danielle’s hospital room. I slowly walk towards the door and see his red face. He was almost as small as my forearm but he was still a beautiful baby boy. No one was allowed to hold him because of the fact that he was 6 weeks too early. But just looking at his face for the first time was enough for me. With fear and tears in my eyes I said with a shaky voice
“Will he... “
“No.” My dad interrupted me before I could say anything else

Chapter 4: The End

Now that he’s been with me for almost a year now things have changed dramatically. Whenever I go to my father's house I always get filled with joy when I see his little face running to me in his kart. Although I love him very much there are still annoying changes too. For an example, I can never sleep because he always cries at night, he loves to pull hair, and he always runs my feet over with his kart. But in the end it’s always worth it because I have him.

I'm sharing this with people so that if someone is going through the same thing that I did when this was happening that they won't be in as much fear as I was in.
