Boy Scouts!  Every where! My whole, entire weekend was gone.  .I had been “voluntold ” (a combination of  volunteering and being told by your mother) to go to Camp Tetonka in Jackson. I preferred to stay home in my big, comfy, warm house.

I arrived Friday and was put to work. The camp staff said, “Direct the cars and show them where to park.”
I replied, “Ok!”  I directed obnoxious people where to park their junky cars at.  It was cool,  rainy,  and dark as outer space, so I had  a flashlight.  After my job was done, I walked slowly to the dining hall and did absolutely nothing.   The annoying boy scouts were as wild and pesky as baby raccoons.  They were already at their camping sites.  After a while  a staff member showed me where my small, blue and gray, non waterproof tent was so I could crouch in my borrowed, red and black sleeping bag that smelled like dirty feet.    I could hear the rain dropping on the tiny tent all night.  Drop, drip, plop.  This probably explains why there was a small puddle, about the size of a cup of water in the corner of the tent.

On Saturday, they planned these activities for the Scouts to do so they could earn points.  I helped with the lunch bag relay game. I told the goofy Scouts “You can get into college by popping paper lunch bags”.   I don't  think they believed me….Their activities continued until lunch time.  The food was pretty good.  After lunch I had to quickly go back to work.

I needed to show the contestants where to put their cookware for the cookoff. The chefs created their food masterpieces all afternoon.   I didn’t even get to sample the food since I was not a judge.  After awards for games and cooking, dinner was served.  We sat around and hung out forever in the dining hall.  I distantly watched the obnoxiously obtuse munchkins closely huddle around the metallic coffee machine.  They were heating up hot aggressive water to make hot chocolate.  They reminded me of Umpa Lumpas making sure the chocolate was pure (just like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Since it was late, I went back to my awful, smelly tent and went to sleep.

I woke up Sunday morning and had a delightful  breakfast.  The scouts  starting packing up their supplies.  I had to work so I didn’t get to back up yet.  Finally all the scouts were gone so I had to leave too.  I wonder what the munchkins are up to today?
