Tee: A Memoir
Today, May 10th 2017, I learned that a girl in my own school took her own life. I didn't know her that well, but it was still very hard. It took me a while to understand, but then at the start of my second class, it fully hit me, and I started crying.
Sometimes I wonder if I could have been her friend had she not killed herself. I wonder if I could have prevented her death had I been her friend.
I had seen her walking around school. She always looked so happy, and we don't know why she would kill herself.
I know people that knew her, and they all say that its like a bad dream-that they'll wake up and she'll be there again, smiling and happy.
But she won't.
By the end of the day, I fully understood that it was her decision to make, and that we couldn't have done anything to prevent it.
But we all miss her anyways.
