How is life different being Dominican and Puerto Rican? Well I may just come off by saying everyone knows most Dominicans and Puerto Rican don’t get along. There are many Puerto Ricans and Dominican’s in my class and mostly no one really brings up the differences in their race. I’m not different from anyone because I am both Dominican and Puerto Rican. So me being mixed means I can get along with anyone. So If I had to choose a side I am pretty much Neutral. The many differences between being Puerto Rican and Dominican would have to be the differences they are from different Countries/Islands. Another difference between the two Countries are the currency while Puerto Rico has the original US Dollars, Dominican Republic has their own Dominican Pesos. So as you can see there are some differences between the two but there are some similarities. Like both Countries are both located on the Caribbean Sea. Another similarity is how both Countries do both speak the same language which is Spanish. I am not as Dominican and Puerto Rican as I say. For instance I mostly speak English instead of Spanish. See my Mom is Puerto Rican and my Dad is Dominican. I don’t live with my dad and he speaks a lot of Spanish so I couldn’t really learn a lot from him. So I had to learn from my mom. If I were speaking to a Spanish person I will be able to understand thanks to my mom. Some perks of being mixed are you aren’t really a part of a side you are more on the middle end. I have never really been to Puerto Rico in my life but hopefully I can go to Puerto Rico so I can experience how people are like are in Puerto Rico. I have visited Dominican Republic and all I can say is that people over there are really nice. Now that is life being mixed in my Point Of View.
