Deep Blue Eyes
I remember that day like it was yesterday. She had a smile on her face. A pink one piece swimsuit, with a baseball cap. She was wearing a necklace with a purple heart. Her hair blew in the wind. Boy, did that girl have hair.
Her eyes were blue. A deep dark blue. Deep and dark but soft like the summer sky. Her eyes dazzled even in the dark. Her eyes sparkled that day. They were two diamonds, precious and pure. Her eyes were blue like the water that swallowed her up. Blue like the water that took her life.
I crouch in my closet holding her necklace in my hands. Tears stream down my face and onto the necklace. I close my eyes and think of that water. Down, down, down it pulled her. It crept into my thoughts. Into my life and heart. I remember her like it was yesterday. Her clothes, her hat, her necklace, her hair, and her deep blue eyes. I remember my sister like it was yesterday.
