One second
One Second
I was in the air ready to head the ball
and the next I was falling to the ground
because someone ran into me like a truck
I felt the extension of my knee backwards,
I heard cracking
and my body crumpled into the ground,
I swore I was falling for ages
because I hit the ground like a sack of potatoes ,
the rush of the game halted
and I could feel the weight of all the stares,
I tried to sink into the gound and become invisible,
but I couldn’t help the screams from escaping,
I laid there limp until I was swarmed with coaches and trainers
who only wanted to help,
but I was too busy crying to get any words out.
