Someday
My Dad’s only job is to get food onto the table, nothing else. My Mom's job, keeping my little brother happy. Him working just hard enough for a roof over my head. Overwhelmed and wondered how to pay their rent. As much as I would like to say that I live in a perfect world, I know it isn't true. As much as my parents try to keep me safe, from all of the world's problems. But they are human and make mistakes. But when they argue, The whole house shakes, I feel the world crumble in my hands. Dad starts sleeping on the couch. And I, have to step up, comfort my little brother. Trying to hide reality from him. Saying everything is going to be okay. Telling him the world is just sunshine and rainbows. But behind all the clouds there's the sun and someday, someday I will see the light at the end of the tunnel. But my life isn't that bad, I have what I need. And that is all I can ever ask for.
