Deadly fireworks
The sky flashed white, and a siren started screaming in the distance. Traffic stopped, people ran into the nearest buildings, looking for cover. My stomach churned as I frantically opened the door and ran to the lobby of a building, where I waited while the sky lit up in a ballet of explosions, light reflected on my pale face. After a short while, the explosions went away, followed by the sirens. I looked out the door and saw that other people were strolling back to their cars, as if nothing had happened.
