It was the 7th grade. When I walked into my school Dana Middle school. I was a small girl with all these tall kids surrounding me. I felt very intimidated by them. I was very shy. I always walked with my head down. The first person I talked to was a security guard. Her name was Ms.April. She was very chill.

“Do you know where Mr.Cortes' class is?” I asked

“Of course mija I will take you.” Ms.April replies.

I loved Ms.April so much. I felt that I could trust her with anything. She made me feel very safe. She always covered for anyone. If I ever needed anything I knew I could count on her. Even if we were running late to class she would not write us up. But stop us and ask why we are running late.

Fast forward a little into my first year of middle school. I made my friend ever friend. Her name was Iris. She was very nice. I got really close with this girl. We were friends for a couple of years. Until we sadly fell off and stopped talking because of some drama.

Seventh grade is also where I met my first ever boyfriend. His name was Carlos. I didn't really like that relationship. I felt that it was very toxic. I felt that I didn’t really bond well with him. We were always arguing and we would never really hang out in school. It got to the point where I thought some really bad things about him. But now I am really glad me and him have communicated again. If I had learned one thing from middle school. It would be not to date so young. Boys are drama and I didn’t need that. But I was young and dumb. So I had to learn that on my own.

A lot happened in 7th grade. I can't really remeber everything and who I wasn’t friends with. But one thing I can say is I learned a lot from everything that middle school put me through. For example, middle school caused drama between me and my cousins. My cousin supposedly got mad because I was hanging out with her friends. She literally went home and told my mom that I need to make my own friends. I wanted to say be serious. I only ever say Hi and chat then I leave. I didn’t understand why she had said that to her mom.

There was another time at school when she started to tell me Jualyssa , do you not have friends? Then when I clapped back to her. That started a whole other thing. She went home crying saying I was being a bully. Even though she was the one that started it.

In 7th grade I never really hung out with one friend. I always had multiple friend groups I could go too. But I stuck with the smallest group. Some of the groups I hung out with would talk about each other behind their backs. So I distanced myself from those friends. They weren’t even my friends. I wondered if they were talking about other people in that group. They are probably talking about me too.

This was written based on my middle school experiences. I wanted to share some of them with others that are barely going into middle school.
