We all know that the feudal state is the second type of state in the history of human society, born on the dissolution of slavery. In that society, we have prejudices that we are trying harder to refute today and male chauvinism is a typical example.

My family has 4 members including: my father, mother, me and my younger brother. Although my parents were born in the 80s, they still hold those outdated stereotypes. As a girl, I am given responsibility such as: domestic science; or being obedient, one-hearted with my husband and his family; or I often heard that "women who give birth to girls are useless." I am extremely disappointed and wonder why in this 21st century, not only my parents, but some people also have a heavy ideological influence. I was determined to stand up and struggle, fight for myself and for the weak, voiceless and especially for a gender-equal society. I used to try to convince, using my words to explain that "there is nothing that men can not do that women can not do" or "there are only things that women can do that men cannot do, like give birth.” Therefore, women need to be proud of their worth. Nevertheless, actions speak louder than words.

I proved to them that I inherently master cooking and housing skills. Moreover, I can try my best to study well, receive scholarships and study abroad to fulfill my dreams. I can earn a lot of money and live an autonomous life. Fortunately, I also convinced my naughty little brother that “girls and women are meant to be loved and cherished, so you need to respect and help them if you can”. He recognized the presence of women of great importance in this world. They are the embodiment of truthfulness. Accordingly, my younger brother started helping me with the smallest things: washing dishes, washing clothes, drying clothes, ect. When my parents saw their children had the right perception, they decreased their negative thoughts, and they supported my actions because they thought it was helpful. I feel empowered and motivated to strive and go further.

At present, women have status and voice in society. Lots of women are successful and have fulfilled lives. The society is now gradually opening up and accepting positive things, everyone's mindset is gradually improving. Beside that, there are still generations of "old-fashioned thinking", but I believe that in the not too distant future, the world will be renewed, men and women will be equal. We will be blissful when people from all over the world consider women as treasures.
