Being tough can be a great thing – both physically and mentally. But me?

I’m as tough as nails. You could insult me, ridicule me, say anything you want, but I follow chef Gordon’s advice. “I’m not some delicate baby flower that’s going to take everything you say personally”. I would say it has worked out for me. I am not easily phased by what people say to me.

9 times out of 10 they don’t even know me, so why should I care? That mentality has gotten me out of some otherwise perceived “lows”. I simply don’t take anything people say to me personally – I tune it out like a radio – and instead perceive things in a purely objective manner.

I am physically tough too – but I hate bragging. I will gladly talk about my mental toughness though. Over the last three years I have taken great strides to improve my mental strength, and as of now, I like to think that my consciousness is stronger than ever. I don’t know what it is, but lately I feel like almost everyone around me these days has some sort of mental trouble, but me? I’m better than that.

What’s my secret? I get inspired by two people: Gordon Ramsay and Shrek. These guys keep me going – because they set forth examples that I find incredibly motivational. Chef Ramsay keeps things strict and realistic, while Shrek embodies the “I don’t care” emotion to the fullest extent.

I look back at my past self – and all I can say now is “I’m so proud of myself for coming this far”. If I could go back in time to meet my past self, I would instill the same motivation that I have now.

I’ve come a long way from where I started – a nobody – a softie – me. It fuels me to do even greater – knowing that I am capable of such incredible improvement.
