For you are me, and I am you
In this world of insecurities and questioning, I cannot and shall not predict you.
But love me for being the poet you no longer may be
Love yourself for being the realist I may not presently be.
The metaphors I call mine may not be yours.
The pineapple I loathe on pizza may be your favorite.
But I shall have faith in your fluctuating self, and you shall too in mine.
For you are me,
And I am you.
My present is your past
And your present is my future
My present will never be your present
And your present will never be mine.
But your future will always be my future,
For my past will always be yours.
The past we share is what makes us; me.
My present is the past that makes you; me.
Love your past for being the present that I live and love.
Love my past for being the past we have lived, loved and shared.
Let the tumultuous not terrify you; allow triumph in true growth.
Love your future for being the future that I shall also call mine.
For you are me,
And I am you.
Now we’re together, facing each other.
My future and your past.
You and me.
When the future and past intersect, where has the present gone?
Now.
A moment that will be a past,
And will always be a future for the past.
Will always be a past for the future.
Where the future and past intersect; now.
A moment we share in introspection and retrospection,
For you are me, and I am you.
