Being Accepted
January 3, 2011 I was heading to the local gym to play basketball. When I started playing, I remember the love I used to have for it being that I haven’t played since, I was little kid. It made me find that love that I once had for basketball.
“You still going?” Tamia asked on one long Tuesday afternoon, I was about to head to basketball conditioning for the first time with my friends Tamia and Shadae. My heart was pounding with excitement, to be able to get on the court and do what I love again.
We begin scrimmaging, and for once this is where I begin to feel accepted and not dissed like how I was in my past. Everyone was happy and I was happy to be around people who loves the same things as me. This is where I began to feel welcomed for who I am.
Being accepted is what mostly everyone wants in this world. The feeling acceptance is way better than the feeling of rejection.
