When I was in the seventh grade, I traveled to New York City. I went with the Beta Club, plus my mom and the other parents. It was a sixteen hour trip that I had waited for, for months. I was so excited to finally get to go to New York! Shopping seemed like it was going to be the best part of the whole entire trip! We stayed for a whole week, which was the week before Spring break. I ended up getting two weeks off with no work, since it was an educational trip! Mainly my friends and I stayed up the whole ride and still went out and walked around thee city.

New York seemed so beautiful on T.V and on papers, especially when it was snowing! There actually were three downsides to it though, which consisted of trash bags, and I mean lots of them laying all over the streets and how it stayed super cold. Most importantly was how they didn’t have sweet tea! Other than those, I LOVED IT! The shops were huge compared to the ones around here. The Forever 21 was three stories! The churches and Empire State building were also completely awesome! There was this toy store called FAO Schwarz, and it was the coolest toy store anyone could go in. They had this one part which had all kinds of magic related stuff.

People surrounded the streets taking pictures of everything. My friends and I even got to have our picture posted on a moving-screen billboard for five minutes! Did I mention it was for American eagle?! The boat ride to the Statue of Liberty was freezing! Everywhere I went my hair would freeze, literally. My group and I would leave the hotel at nine that morning and not arrive back until at least eleven that night! The latest night was when we went to see this show called War Horse; it had to have been the most boring thing ever to watch! A scary thing that occurred while I was there was riding on a subway or in a Taxi! They go so fast, and when you are standing up on a subway only getting to hold onto a bar! The Yankees baseball game was a very neat thing to do also! I was dying to go to the wax museum, but it was closed the day I was planning to go!

New York was most definitely an exciting time in my life, and I received the opportunity to be able to do so many new things while there. It seems as if you are just in a dream while walking the streets. Everyone needs to visit there, and do all the things they can possibly do. There are just miles and miles of sites to see and things to do! Yes, your feet will get super tired and you’ll feel like you’re dying but it will all be worth it! I can’t wait until I can finally get the amazing chance to go back!
