I am going to be late to my own funeral. I was, and still am, the type of girl who does not know how to properly manage time. However, I learned the hard way that there are many consequences of being late and managing one’s time is extremely important. I still remember the day when I almost got into a car accident. My mom and I had no clue what was coming for us. My mom was waiting for me in the car; she was tense. When I got in the car, she said, “We are late to the family dinner with friends.” Then, my mom started the engine, eased off the break, and quickly accelerated. I was feeling nervous because the speed limit of my mom’s car was going up. The higher the speed was, the more my face was burning. The red truck in front of my mom’s car instantly stopped, and my mom stopped as fast as she could; her car was not even a foot away from the red car. I could hear my own heartbeat, and the memory of another car crash that occurred not so long ago flashed across my eyes. My mom was saying something I could not hear; I was zoned out. Now, I was came back to the world and heard “Are you okay, honey?” I replied as soon as my mom let her words

out, “Yeah.” On the way to the restaurant, I was thinking about my dad, my brother, and my family’s friends that we were supposed to eat dinner with. What would happen if the car accident happened, and either my mom or I was hurt? How would my dad, brother, and friends feel? I could still barely catch onto my breath, and my heart was beating as fast as my mom trying to race across the road. So, on the day when I almost got a car crash, I learned an important lesson which was to control my time usage properly. It is definitely better to not be at certain place than risking your life to get there. I just hope that people around the globe will make the same choice as I did and not be running late to their own funerals!
