Why I Love Gossip Girl
From socialites from the Upper East side of New York, to the lonely boy in Brooklyn. The show Gossip Girl shows us the lifestyle of socialites that live in a fantasy world that we would all live in a heartbeat. This is a world that everyone would dream to be in. From rolling in your money, to drinking champagne at sixteen, going to extravagant events, and attending prestigious private schools. Its the dream.
For the Upper East side money comes very easy, there parents are empire owners and basically own part of New York. The reason why I like the show is because there is always a secret or a scandal. No matter how much they hide the secret it always gets out and posted on the anonymous blogger called “Gossip Girl”. The show leaves you with such a cliffhanger, that you have to watch way more than you should. Gossip girl revolves around this anonymous blog people send it deceiving and controversial pictures to them and Gossip Girl ruthlessly posts it. All of the scandals make the show thought-provoking. Who did this? Who did that? That is what makes it so intriguing.
Even though they live in an insane fantasy world, they go through the same things as a normal kid would. Heartbreak, betrayal, backstabbing, and the most important the gossip. You know that one the secret gets out there will be either a heartbreak or betrayal. That is what the show revolves around. Gossip Girl is like real life but with more money and expensive clothes. Thats what I like though, people can relate to some of the events occurring. Even it shows the means girl and how they have a hierarchy about one another. Even when they do backstab they’re friends, they are doing it because they know something and trying to help them. They may get mad and throw there Chanel purse at each other. But in the end all of them remain the true friends that they are.
The show shows a way of life, but also displays what actually happens is school and with friends. Especially when theres gossip. The anonymous blogger helps add the mysterious effect to the show. As Gossip Girl always says “ Who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl”.
