Aurora
The sky in the opposite direction was still dark, but in the east, a mixture of yellow and orange on the horizon gracefully came forward beneath the dark neon ocean blue of night that had already begun to evaporate. Against the electrifying clouds, which rapidly billowed into a sea of cotton candy wisps, all other objects became insignificant blurs of silhouettes - their only importance to frame such a breathtaking phenomenon. The morning cast an orange haze as the sun, partially cloaked by hanging clouds but still immense and grandeur, pierced through the serene bubble of our quiet, dozing town in a splash of pinks and violets. It's luminescent rays lit sections of the skyline on fire, flames licking at the fleeting, gossamer puffs that never failed to leave me awestruck and reverential. I close my eyes and let the warmth wash over my skin, unable to keep a small smile off my face as peace fills my heart to the brim.
