Halloween is always a fun time of year when everyone gets to dress up as anything they would like. There are so many different things that people could dress up as, whether it be a famous actor, a famous athlete, or even a costume that is made up. When I was little, Halloween was my favorite holiday. I always got to be a different person for the day and see all of the other costumes my friends were wearing. I would always have my costume set and ready to go weeks before Halloween. At the beginning of October, each day I would put it on and see what more I could add to it to make sure mine was exactly the way I wanted it. Of course there were many times that some of my friends would have the same costume as me, but that didn’t bother me because I knew that everyone’s costume would always be a little different.

My favorite Halloween costume that I wore was when I was younger, was when I decided to dress up as a clown. I was nine years old at the time and all I thought about then was dressing up as a clown and seeing everyone laugh at me because; of course that is what clowns were for. It took me a long time to decide everything that I was going to wear; I wanted to make sure it was the best one. The night before Halloween I remember getting all of my clothes together and figuring out exactly what I was going to do for my clown face. I knew not many people were going to recognize me in my costume, but that is the fun part about it. Having a mask on me and wearing a costume allowed me to be a different person because I was hiding my true self. October 31st that year was a very warm day and I knew I was probably going to sweat a lot in my costume do to how much clothes I had to wear. Everyone kept asking me what costume I was going to wear but I didn’t want to tell anyone. I wanted everyone to see me when I had my whole costume on. At school I saw everyone getting ready and putting on his or her costumes and I couldn’t wait to put mine on. What happens if no one knows who I am? I thought to myself. I saw my friends wearing superhero costumes, princess costumes, costumes based on famous people and much more. I few minutes later, I walked into my class with my costume on. I hope everyone likes my costume, I thought to myself. 

When I walked into class I was happy because I knew that everyone thought my costume was funny.

“Allie, I love your costume!” My teacher said to me. Everyone started coming up to me asking if they could squeeze my nose because of course they knew a big red nose would make a squeaking noise.

 “Wow, I don’t think your costume could get any crazier.” My friend said to me.
       

“Where did you find all of those clothes?” My friend’s mom asked me.
       

“I made it myself with all different clothes that I had from home!” I said to her.

I was so happy that everyone loved my costume and I couldn’t wait to go outside and have the whole school see me.

At the end of the day I was sitting in my room looking through all of my candy and I realized how much I loved this costume. This was my favorite costume because I got to pick every thing about it and there was not one thing I did not like about it. No one knew whom I was when I had everything on and I loved that I got to act like a completely different person that day. This was by far my favorite costume and a costume that I will never forget.
