Tae kwon do

I do martial arts. The kind I do is called taekwondo. It started in 2015 when it opened. I was probably 11 or 12 years old when I started taekwondo. I've been there ever since I started as a white belt of course. But I always had good talent in that stuff so it wasn't the hardest for me. I had some of the basic skills for taekwondo. I was flexible, in good shape, I could already do a lot of the curriculum, I was very active, and I was just a good student who wanted to be even better. Taekwondo has also brought down some weight and got rid of fat and added a lot of muscle to my body. I was taught by one master who had instructors by his side and some left in the process of time passing by them and I always thought that must be a hard job teaching all those kids that's why master Kim has instructors.

But something happened when I got my green belt He and the other instructors chose me to help by there side to work hard train and teach all the students when I thought of myself as a regular student who just had some lucky talent and of course I said yes and I'm glad I made that choice I am now a level two instructor I can do the warmups and I can teach the curriculum now to become a level three I have to be able to start class. met new friends Brandon, Sarah, Jared, Nathan, Joel, Johnny, and ms Kim. They are the best and nice. Most of them are older than me but Johnny and Brandon are my age. I got to join in many things I find very fun. I was in a tournament for my school. It was the 2016 tournament a year after we opened. I got the top-scoring for all the things I did; those things were board breaking sparring and form. We also have lots of parties and belt testing to get your new belt and when we do cool things like that we usually get food after and it's great. During holiday times we have large dinners with parents and students and it's the best thing there's American and Korean food to eat so you can try different things and the food taste great too but one time my master Kim took us out for dinner to steak n shake to show appreciation to us for helping him he bought us food and a sundae for all of us have a great guy after we ate he took us bowling and we all had a great time that is one perk of being an instructor another perk about being an instructor is I can do it even after I'm a black belt I get paid to teach students to fight. I am also part of so many things and I'm appreciative of it and I get new friends with it.

soon we have another tournament and i went with a couple of my friend instructors joel nathan and johnny to watch one of another masters tournaments to learn what they do to have a fun tournament what we do is form board breaking and sparring and I thought it was a great time I had to get up early and go there wIth my frIends and then we saw how they set it up how they talk how they judge also we were judges for the tournament and it was really a good tournament I needed to see if they do anything we don't which I thought they did they had a different scoring system they used a board with numbers that had a low score of 5.0 and a high score of 9.0 and then I had to add the scores up and we would do the next student that scoring system was for your form but for sparring they did things differently they had a electrical scoring system with a tv connected to 2 phones held by referees who scored by tapping your score by how many times you hit your opponents there are two circles and two squares for red and blue opponents the circle is a headshot and a square is a body shot a punch meant u tap the square but u have to tap the correct color by the opponents colors if you get a kick to the body its two points so you would tap the square two times. If you do a kick to the head it gives you three points and you would tap the head. Now when u do spinning kicks it's different if you do a spinning kick to the body u swipe on the square and get three points. If you do a spinning kick to the head you swipe on the circle and get four points. They had people in the corners with phones and they had a referee in the ring who called if you made a bad choice like stepping out of the ring then they would take off a point the sparring was mostly black belts and I enjoyed watching it. After we watched the tournament and judged and took notes we came back to the studio and we got to eat some food and then told our fellow instructors what it was like and what they did. We told them how they did their tournament to make ours a better fun experience I am a red belt with 2 black stripes and after this belt, I get my black belt and my black belt testing is in April I thought the tournament was great I am glad that I got this opportunity I'm glad to be an instructor and I'm glad I do tae kwon do.

I am a first-degree black belt thanks to master Y Kim. I even became an instructor for him he taught in Wentzville Missouri.
