My name is Wyatt. The name Wyatt means “brave at war.” It makes you feel powerful.

My parents gave me this name because they thought that it would be better since it isn't a common name. They claim they both were rattling off uncommon names and they both hit my name and immediately agreed upon it.

The most famous person previously named Wyatt was Wyatt Earp who was a lawman in the Wild West. He became famous for his participation in a 1881 gunfight in Tombstone, Arizona.

But when I think of the name I like to think of a king in medieval times. Ruling over your empire with full and utter control.

A medieval leader such as Genghis Khan. I think of him ruling all of central Asia and China.
Sitting at the top of a mountain holding a golden sword with a name carved into the sword. The name Wyatt. And over that empire smell, amber, cardamon, tobacco, oud mix scent all over the controlled land. You can almost taste the air around you. It is very dense and foggy.Almost as if you can take a bite out of it. that way it lays on your tongue. It has a nice sweet taste.

The color around you is almost night. Dusk. A very dark amber color illuminates the sky. And then you hear the sound of thousands of men marching to take over another kingdom. As they walk you hear the sound of an eerie chanting erupting. You hear the fall of a kingdom and a rise of a new. A loud clash of swords with a roar of thousands of soldiers chanting

The day turns to night and here Genghis sits on the top of his mountain contemplating which civilization to conquer next.

When I was younger I always wanted to change my name to something more common because I felt it was weird and it wasn't ordinary but the older I get the more I appreciate my rather less common name because I like the fact that most of the people I meet don’t have my name and it makes me feel special and powerful. When I hear my name get called out in the State Finals or a big match power and energy flows through me. And I then recall why I like my name.

I will stick with Wyatt.
