Think about all the innocent people that have died because of the death penalty. According to the Montana innocence project they say “this may have been the first but certainly not the last time the United states executed an innocent person.” Many people have been killed when they did nothing wrong and their families had to suffer from it. A lot of people don't think the death penalty is right, but many people think that it's the right thing to do if someone has murdered someone. I'm talking about the different opinions on the death penalty and if it should be legal or not.

According to deathpenaltyinfo in one year in the U.S. there were eighteen inmates that were executed. There has been a decrease since the years before, it has gone down 67 people year on year. Many people in the U.S. get the death sentence but only a small amount of people actually get killed. For example in the U.S there were 2,382 sentences but only 16 died. This should be lessened and brought to a stop.

Many people think that the  death penalty is fair and some people have their reasons. Many people think that it is fair because they get to have the closure that they won't be able to murder anyone else. They also want the murderer to be hurt the way that their family or friends were harmed by the murderer. A lot of people think that it keeps the world safer because no one wants to get murdered for doing something wrong.  According to proquest, it says that people say that the death penalty is unfair (50%) but there are some people who think that the death penalty is a fair punishment (47%).

People wonder if the government will ever stop the death penalty. The government has thought about abolishing the death penalty but there are a lot of arguments about keeping and getting rid of the death penalty. The reason they have thought about it is because there is a big risk that they are killing innocent people who have done nothing wrong and got framed. Many people think that it should be abolished because of the risk that they could be killing an innocent person. Even
