Genocide in Darfur
During the holocaust six million jews were killed because of their religion. World leaders said they would never let anything like that happen again, but it has, and it is still going on today. The fighting in Sudan has caused more than 400,000 deaths and over 2,500,000 people have been displaced from their home. 6,000-10,000 people die each month. Men are killed when they go out to get water, women are raped. Who is responsible for so much pain, the Sudanese government and a group named the Janjaweed, Led by Al Basher Sudan’s president. Why would they do this? Because of Culture, religion, economy, and politics. What can we do to help stop the ruthless killings? We can help by raising awareness for this issue, tell a friend, write a letter to the government or the U. N. Talk about it at your school or work. You could even donate money to charities. Just do something to help this genocide stop.
