transportation in the Maldives in 2050
Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean which consists of 26 atolls. It is geographically dispersed and majority of the nation is covered by the sea. In Maldives transport condition differs significantly from other countries. Most Transportation in Maldives is by sea. There are few islands which are large enough to support automobiles. There are very less airports in Maldives which serves through Maldives. The main source of transportation in small islands is either by foot or by Motor cycles. I wonder in 2050 how transportation in Maldives will be.
Surely it would bring a countless change to the transportation system. Firstly about land transport, Roads in every island will be bricked and generally well maintained. Nearby islands will be linked by bridges and Auto buses will be operated in a fixed time schedule. Environmental friendly vehicles will be used in most of the islands. Citizens will use Automobiles which has silent engines rather than motorcycles for their own requirements. Maldives will have good safety standards for land transportation. Moreover, Government will enforce superior Local laws on transportation and consider a speed limit, more traffic lights; speed breaks etc. public transportation system will be beneficial to each and every resident. In 2050 Maldives land transportation will be luxurious and safe.
Secondly in Sea transport, Forthcoming in 2050 excessive changes will bring to sea transportation of Maldives. To travel within the atolls or for overnight short sea trips luxurious and high speed passenger ships will be used. Modern Ro-Ro ferries will be used to carry vehicles. As Maldives being a high destination tourist destiny in 2050 tourism will be introduced all over Maldives. Sea transportation will bring extreme modifications, as to nearby resort islands modern water taxi and Eco-friendly passenger ships will be used to carry passengers. Passenger liners will be used to travel neighboring countries which will be low in cost. International cargo shipping will be introduced and more international seaports will be generated. And Bulk carrier will be used within the atolls to carry goods to fulfill the resident’s desires.
Thirdly Air Transport, in 2050 several local and international companies will provide seaplane service to remote islands and seaplanes will be used to travel within the atolls and to travel to the capital city. There will be one international airport in every atoll and travelling to overseas will be easier. Newest and the most comfortable air crafts will be serving through Maldives. There will be 1 or 2 pilot training schools in every atoll of Maldives. And also there will be more flight crew training schools in Maldives which will make the condition of transport better. And there will be more environmental friendly aircrafts in Maldives. Most of the airports in Maldives will be privatized. In 2050 Maldivians will be extremely overjoyed with the comfortable air transportation system.
To summarize, I strongly believe that 2050 will bring extreme development to issues of land, sea and air transportation system in Maldives. Modern technologies in future will soon be able to solve most of the problems which are occurring today. Maldives will be labeled as a carbon neutral country and environmental friendly vehicles, ships and air crafts will be serving through all over Maldives.
